What is needed

1 Year filmmaking programs

The admission process for the 1 year filmmaking programs has two stages. Stage 1 consist of application materials to be sent via our online platform. In the online application form you will also choose your desired specialisation. If you meet the entry requirements in Stage 1, you will pass to an online interview. You will hear from us the result within 24 hours after the interview. 

You can choose your specialisation in the online application form.

ENTRY REQUIREMENT

Age: 18 Years

If you meet all requirements except age, please contact us. You may be eligible for an exception. 

English: Communicative Level

Applicants who are non-native English speakers and who have not undertaken their final two years of schooling in English, should demonstrate capability in English at a standard equivalent to the levels identified below:

  • Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) level B2
  • PTE51
  • IELTS 5.5 (Reading and Writing must be at 5.5)
  • or equivalent

If you are unable to demonstrate the capability in English with such a certificate, Prague Film Institute reserves the right not to enroll the applicant until he/she successfully passes our English language test.

Scan of Passport

For non-EU applicants national identity card will be also accepted.

Curriculum Vitae (CV)

Your CV should include your name and contact details, a personal statement, work experience or your video/film shooting references, education and qualifications, key skills.

Secondary School Certificate

Required only if you wish to receive BTEC Level 5 HND Diploma at the end of the course. You will be asked to have a completed one of the following secondary education certificates in any field:

  • A BTEC Level 3 qualification in Creative Media Production
  • A GCE Advanced Level profile that demonstrates strong performance in a relevant subject or adequate performance in more than one GCE subject.
    This profile is likely to be supported by GCSE grades A* to C (or equivalent), and/or 9 to 4 (or equivalent) in subjects such as maths and English
  • Other related Level 3 qualifications
  • An Access to Higher Education Diploma awarded by an approved further education institution
  • Related work experience
  • An international equivalent of the above.

Applicants from South Asia should have 12 completed classes to be eligible for the course accredited with BTEC. If you are unable to provide such document, you can still study the course but you will receive Prague Film Institute Certificate instead.

Example of Creative Work

These may include (for example): photography, footage, short video, show real, short story, scenario, visualisation, music or best sample(s) of your film project with clear explanation of your involvement and role in it. 

Motivational Letter

1-2 standard pages (250-500 words) about why you want to study film and why at our school specifically.
