International Film Festival in Karlovy Vary in the the Czech Republic is along with Cannes, Venice, Moscow and Tokyo, one of the oldest A-list film festivals in the world. Currently, it is the most important film event in Central and Eastern Europe. Every year the festival attracts about 120,000 visitors.

Every year, a select group of top-performing students from the Prague Film Institute has the opportunity to receive industry passes to the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. These passes grant them access to main competition film screenings and other festival events.
