1-Year Acting for Film Program – Entry Requirements

Applicants aged 17 may be accepted if they have completed secondary education and provide parental/guardian consent.

As the programme is taught and assessed in English, all students must demonstrate English proficiency at CEFR B2 level or above.

For non-native English speakers, accepted qualifications include:

• IELTS (Academic or General Training): 5.5+
• Pearson PTE Academic: 51+
• TOEFL iBT: 72+
• Cambridge English B2 First (FCE): Pass (160+)
• other recognised, externally assessed English language qualifications benchmarked to CEFR B2 or above

Your English level will also be assessed during the admissions interview. If you are a non-native English speaker and do not have an English language certificate at the time of application, you can provide it later, before the first day of the programme.

A scan or photo of a valid passport or ID card is required as part of the application for identity verification. Data is processed in line with GDPR.

Applicants who are in their final year of secondary school and do not yet have their diploma may apply with an official transcript for now. The final Secondary School Certificate must be submitted before the start of the academic year.

Applicants from South Asia may apply with 10 completed school years (Class 10) as an equivalent entry requirement.

Your CV should include your name and contact details, a personal statement, work experience or your video/film shooting references, education and qualifications, key skills.

Please introduce yourself (1–2 minutes). Tell us who you are and briefly describe your experience. This is not a performance — we are interested in your communication skills, motivation, and personality. Phone recordings are welcome; please record horizontally.

Please send a video of your acting performance (max. 2 minutes). It can be a monologue or a scene from any film/TV series, performed by you. The video does not need to be professionally produced.

Submit a motivational letter of 1–2 standard pages (250–500 words) describing your motivation to study acting for film, your goals, and why Prague Film Institute is the right fit for you.

If you meet the entry requirements, you will get shortlisted for a video interview in order to assess your motivation, interest in acting for film and your study expectations.
